Roco Kingdom World is the primary driver of the genre’s overall performance, its strong initial visibility underscores the impact of large pre-registration bases and the 16 years old Roco Kingdom IP familiarity on first-month livestreaming traction. Tencent’s Roco Kingdom series, garnered 9.2 million viewers across Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili in March. This was mainly driven by Roco Kingdom World, a F2P cross-platform mobile/PC game that was launched on March 26 across Harmony OS, iOS, Android, TapTap, WeGame and its official website. Notably, the title had surpassed 60 million pre-registrations and within 13 hours of launch, the game attracted over 15 million new players. It quickly topped both the iOS free and grossing charts for several days, becoming a breakout hit among childhood IP-based mobile games. By day nine, the total number of registered users across platforms had exceeded 30 million.
The title holds a 6.6 rating on TapTap and an 83.6% recommendation rate on WeGame.
Part of the title’s reception attributed to its presence of multiple closed and large-scale beta tests during the long six-year development cycle helped sustain player awareness and build a pre-engaged audience.
The comment sections suggest that the official launch has attracted a significant number of returning players from the original 4399 web version, highlighting strong nostalgia appeal. Building on the original 2010 PC IP, the game transitions the franchise into a 3D open world pet collection RPG with over 400 pets, turn-based combat, and expanded exploration systems.
