Games to watch: Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, Stella Sora
RPG titles dominated China’s livestreaming landscape in November 2025, standing out as some of the month’s most-watched content. Niko Partners China Games & Livestreaming Tracker reveals that the genre continues to command strong interest among viewers, driven heavily by major version updates and anniversary events. Read our quick take on three standout titles from this month’s top 11 RPG games, based on the Niko Index, our proprietary metric for estimating total viewership across games, streamers, and categories.
Kuro Games’ Wuthering Waves, a F2P cross-platform mobile/PC/console game, garnered 36.5 million viewers (+103% MoM) and ranked #14, a rise from #24 in the prior month. Notably, the Version 2.8 preview livestream was aired at 19:00 on November 14 across Bilibili, Huya, and Douyu. Our Niko Index chart recorded a significant surge in viewership on that same day, with Bilibili platform alone attracting 20.4 million views in a single day. Version 2.8 was launched on November 20, marking the concluding update of the title’s 2.0 series.
Similarly, miHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero, a F2P cross-platform mobile/PC/console game, garnered 30.9 million viewers (+84% MoM) and ranked #19, a rise from #25 in the prior month. Like Wuthering Waves’s update preview livestream, Version 2.4 was officially aired at 19:30 on November 14 across Bilibili, Huya, and Douyu, driving a sharp viewership spike on the same day. Bilibili platform alone attracted 18.8 million views in a single day. Version 2.4 was later launched on November 26 and introduced new event details, new in-game characters, and story plot insights.
These back-to-back showcases highlight how streaming platforms, especially Bilibili, have emerged as critical battlegrounds for anime-style RPG game reveals, supported by the platform’s younger user base and strong alignment with ACGN culture.
Beyond established titles, Yostar’s Stella Sora, a F2P RPG cross-platform mobile/PC game, garnered 9.0 million viewers (+1,721%) and ranked #39, up from #191 in the prior month. The viewership surge is mainly attributed to its first major content update released on November 18, shortly after the game’s open beta launch on October 20. The update featured story expansion, new in-game characters and cosmetic items, as well as limited-time in-game events with rewards.
